Over time ponds and lagoons build up a large quantity of sludge and slurry on the bottom.

Bains have a purpose built self propelled dredge that is specifically designed to be able to remove waste without emptying the pond or lagoon, meaning you don’t need to shut down a site whilst dredging.

This dredge has already been used to remove 3000 tonnes of sludge from one lagoon. It has been designed to displace only 400mm of water (i.e it floats in just 0.4m of water). Bains have had their dredge and hoses purpose built to dredge ponds up to 150m by 150m and pump specifications can be changed to suit an individual job.

The dredge is 6m long and 2.4m wide and weights 4.1 tonne.
